Hello, we are Tim and Linda, one of many couples on a cycle touring adventure across the globe. We left the UK in spring 2018 and pedalled towards Asia without a final destination. Two years and 32 countries later, we are still blown away by the incredibly friendly and generous people we meet and the magnificent landscapes we are fortunate enough to roll through.
This site is a platform to share our experiences from this journey. If you would like to receive notifications of new posts, you can click the three dots in the top menu and enter your email address.
Tim Walton is from Bewdley, UK. He likes mountains, musical instruments, audio geekery, photography, coffee and type II fun. You can find more of his pictures on Instagram. Most of the photos in this blog have been taken and edited by him.
Linda Beilig is from Magdeburg, Germany. She likes cats, street art, photography, beer and type I fun. You can find her on Instagram here. Linda’s blog from before we decided to only keep one joint blog, telling the journey from the UK to Turkey from her perspective, can be found here. She’s behind most of this blog’s words.
You might be wondering how we fund this journey: We’re living entirely off savings and are currently not earning any money – through this blog or other means. Any adverts you might see on the blog are placed by WordPress, not by us. As you can see in our spending at the end of individual blog posts and on the Stats page, travelling by bike is, or at least can be, quite cheap – we’re fairly frugal and are trying to make the money we have go as far as possible. If you are enjoying the content on this site and would like to support our coffee/beer/Snickers fund, you can send an amount of your choice to paypal.me/pedallingtheplanet.
